Munich among the 20 most innovative cities in the world

In a recent study, the B2B financial services platform Finom.de examined which cities worldwide offer the best environment for innovation. Munich landed in 18th place worldwide and 6th place in the EU!

The cities were evaluated in the individual categories according to the highest score for start-up activities, research competence and strong industry: In the area of “Research and development at universities”, Munich’s universities once again stood out – with 85.51 points, the state capital landed here in 12th place in an international comparison, and in second place EU-wide behind Paris with 85.79 points. Other categories worth mentioning for Munich are “Research and development of government organizations”, “Technical environment”. Munich also ranks 18th worldwide and 6th in the EU for “Venture Capital Financing”. It is also worth mentioning that Munich is the best performer in the ranking of non-capital cities behind Berlin, Paris, Stockholm, Dublin and Amsterdam.
